The Kano State Police Command has rescued 75-year-old Abdulrahman Yunusa, a resident of Soba Local Government Area in Kaduna State, from kidnappers.
On Thursday, May 9, police conducted a special operation, as announced in a statement by Public Relations Officer Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa on Monday, May 12. The victim was found in a syndicate’s hideout in Bagau town, Bebeji Local Government Area, guarded by 23-year-old Musa Tukur from Kudan Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
“The victim was found with his eyes covered with fabric and some body parts tied with rope,” the statement noted.
According to police, Musa and his accomplices kidnapped Yunusa from his residence on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at about 12:30 pm, demanding a ransom of ₦20,000,000. The suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation.
After the rescue, Yunusa was rushed to a hospital, treated, discharged, and reunited with his family. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adumu Bakori praised the officers’ professionalism and thanked the public for providing credible information.
Members of Yunusa’s community from Soba LGA, Kaduna state, visited the Kano State Police Command to express gratitude for the successful operation.
