From John Bassey, Gusau

Zamfara State Commissioner for Health Dr Nafisa Muhammad Maradun has praised the state government for revitalising healthcare and upgrading the College of Nursing Sciences with modern facilities. She made these remarks during an inspection of the project site in Gusau on Wednesday.

Dr Maradun noted that Governor Dauda Lawal’s visit to the site showed his commitment to transforming the health sector. According to Suleiman Isah, the Ministry’s Information Officer, the governor’s inspection focused on assessing the project’s progress, quality, and timelines. The initiative is vital for improving healthcare education and strengthening the state’s healthcare system.

The governor’s presence underscores the importance his administration places on investing in healthcare infrastructure and training, Maradun indicated. She noted that upgrading the College of Nursing Sciences will produce qualified nurses to staff hospitals, including general hospitals currently being renovated across Zamfara. Plus, the state needs skilled medical directors to manage these facilities effectively.
