Favour Kanu, the wife of Prince Fineboy Kanu, the younger brother of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has been banned from attending the next three court sessions.
Favour was banned by a Federal High Court in Abuja for streaming the proceedings live on her Facebook page.
The order was given by Justice James Omotosho on Tuesday after Favour admitted admitted to livestreaming the session and tendered an apology.
According to Omotosho, her action could have amounted to contempt of court.
Ignoring pleas from Favour’s husband, who asked for forgiveness, Justice Omotosho maintained that his order would be enforced.
“I want to hear from her. Were you not the one who took your phone?
“I did not give the order to forfeit that phone. I don’t know if she might be a wife to my brother (Nnamdi Kanu),” Omotosho said.
“She is my wife,” Prince Fineboy Kanu responded.
Omotosho further stated that no one should take actions that could delay the trial, adding that justice would be done.
