The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Ogun State, has commended the governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun, for the ongoing rehabilitation work on the Lagos-Sango-Abeokuta Expressway.

The Chairman of NANS Ogun Joint Campus Committee, Gabriel Abiola Francis, gave this commendation, in a statement he signed on Friday, in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

He noted that though the road belongs to the Federal Government, the governor worked assiduously to get the nod of the FG to fix the road which is one of the most important highways in the state.

The NANS leader observed that since the commencement of work on the road, which passes through five local government areas in the state, vehicular movement has been enhanced, while commuters no longer suffer nightmare on the road.

He stated further that incessant road mishaps being caused by the hitherto deplorable condition of the expressway has reduced.

Francis, who hailed solid earthwork being done by the contractors handling the project at the Larfage-Ewekoro-Papalanto stretch of the highway, equally thumbed the governor for regular supervision of the road project.

He added that when completed, the project will further boost socioeconomic development of the communities along the expressway.

The Ogun NANS Chairman, however, urged the governor to order the contractor expedite work on the project, without compromising the standard Ogun is noted for.
