Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release businesswoman, Aisha Achimugu on bail within 24 hours.

In a short ruling on Wednesday, the judge also ordered the parties in the suit, especially the EFCC, to come back and report on compliance with the order on May 2, 2025.

Recall that the EFCC declared Achimugu wanted over alleged money laundering on March 28.

Through her lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju, Achimugu filed a fundamental rights suit against the arrest warrant by the EFCC, which she described as “unwarranted, unjustifiable, devoid of probable cause” and designed to humiliate her.

On Monday, Justice Ekwo ordered Achimugu, who is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Felak Concept Group, to submit herself to the EFCC.

On Tuesday, the EFCC said it picked up the socialite at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja around 5 am after arriving from London.
