Sir Marc Wabara, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) member, has urged the South East Development Commission (SEDC) Board to realise President Bola Tinubu’s vision for the South East.

He commended Tinubu for establishing the SEDC to address the region’s infrastructural shortcomings. Wabara indicated in a statement that the board must ensure the president’s efforts in creating the commission are not wasted. He described the SEDC as a historic step towards meeting the South East’s long-standing needs.

The commission, he noted, will support the region’s reconstruction and rehabilitation, which has faced significant deprivation for years.

Wabara also praised Tinubu’s economic reforms, particularly the removal of the fuel subsidy. Despite short-term challenges, he highlighted that the financial savings are being reinvested into vital sectors for sustainable growth. He believes these measures are crucial for Nigeria’s medium- and long-term economic development.

He pointed to recent defections of influential politicians from opposition parties to the APC as evidence of growing support for Tinubu’s policies. Wabara views these moves as a sign of confidence in the president’s leadership and commitment to restoring Nigeria’s economic strength globally.

Wabara expressed optimism about Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that it prioritises Nigeria’s future prosperity. He is confident that the president’s focus will lead to success.
