Representatives of seven Urhobo-controlled local government areas in Delta Central Senatorial district have declared support for the candidacy of Sen. Ighoyota Amori for the Senate seat in the 2019 general elections.

Their support, it was said, was based on Amori’s track records of achievements during his short stay in the National Assembly.

The representatives of the people of the seven council areas, spoke at the declaration of Sen. Amori, to contest under the People Democratic Party (PDP) ticket, for the Senate, held last weekend, at his country home in Mosogar, Ethiope West Local Government Area.

In his speech on behalf of the leaders and people of Ughelli North in Delta Central, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare disclosed that Sen. Amori, being one of the ‘five Musketeers’ that nurtured PDP in Delta State, ought to and must be given his right place in the political scheme of things come 2019.

He said the people of Ughelli North Council area have unanimously agreed to throw their political weight solidly behind him even more than they did in 2015, adding that it was very sad and painful that the enemies of Urhobo nation deployed all manners of evil scheming to steal the mandate given to him and PDP through judicial ambush and crude political rascality.

According to him, “We are still in agony, we still mourn that solid mandate that was stolen by some never-do-well politicians who smuggled our mandate through conflicting satanic judgment. This time, we are ready for them. There shall be no escape roots for anybody involved in judicial ambush business.

“I am happy to announce to you that we, the people of Ughelli North including leaders, women and Youth of Orogun Kingdom where Senator Ovie Omo Agege hails from shall pay cash for the Nomination Forms of Senator Ighoyota Amori, the ODIDIMADI of Africa come 2018, after party primaries.

“We know of a truth, that some baby-politicians currently parading themselves as Amori’s political rivals for the Senate slot shall willingly step-down and join the Amori Team sooner than later, especially when the political drum beats changes gear for greater acceleration,” Prof Muoboghare added.

A former coordinator for Sen. Ovie Omo Agege in Ughelli North Local Government Area, and now a strong supporter of Sen. Amori, Hon. Friday Akpoyibo and a PDP stalwart in Orogun Kingdom, Chief Andy  Asowata, also reaffirmed their support for Sen. Amori, noting that his wealth of experience in development of the Urhobo land would not have come at a better time.

The duo of Asowata and Akpoyibo, who hail from Sen. Agege’s hometown and birthplace of Orogun, described the serving senator as ‘a mistake’ to the Urhobo nation, urging all and sundry to join hands with PDP and Amori to correct this abnormality for the betterment of the Urhobo land.

Chairman of the ‘Amori for Senate 2019’ declaration event, Chief Bernard Edewor, said the leaders and good people of Delta Central are united for Sen. Amori, adding that the 2015 stolen mandate must be recovered from APC and Agege in 2019.

“Those parading themselves as senator and senatorial aspirants other than our amiable leader, Sen. Ighoyota Amori are political jesters and do not represent the interest of Urhobo Nation and the good people of Delta Central.

“Our focus is to mobilise the Urhobo Nation, Delta Central and Delta State for His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, Senator Ighoyota Amori and other credible candidates of PDP political extraction for landslide victory in 2019.

“APC is alien to us in Delta State. There is no APC here. PDP is our party,” Edewor enthused.

The arrowhead of the occasion and top Delta Central contender for ‘Senate come 2019’, Sen. Ighoyota Amori said his ambition was to revive the clumsy representation currently causing Delta Central pains at the Red Chambers.

“You all knew what happened in 2015. I won the election in a landslide victory. It was unprecedented but some political rascals via judicial ambush stole our mandate. That mandate is what you have all resolved to redeem in 2019 through my candidacy. I appreciate you immensely.

“I am wiser now. We are wiser now. Let the judicial contractors show up again in 2019; we shall teach them a  bitter  lesson by adequately protecting our votes and victory in such a way that specialists in candle-light two minutes judgment will fail woefully.
