Abdullahi Adamu, Executive Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, has announced the rescue of two pastors kidnapped on Friday night at Akpamoba-Igbola Mountain.
In a statement by Hon Yusuf Mohammed Bala, Special Adviser to the Chairman, the pastors, Adura Kayode and Kingsley Ebong of City of Grace Prophetic Liberation Church, were abducted during a night vigil around 11pm. They have been rescued and reunited with their families, while the search for the kidnappers continues.
Adamu urged residents to remain calm, noting that security personnel are making progress in tracking the criminals. He encouraged anyone with credible information to contact authorities, as escaped worshippers have provided useful details to operatives.
The Chairman assured the public that security forces will keep combing the forests to free any remaining captives. He praised Commander Ismaila Hassan and the Community Vigilante Groups from Felele to Tajimi for their swift response, which forced the kidnappers to flee.
Adamu called for sustained efforts to eliminate criminal elements from the forest and restore safety.
