The nomination meeting of the extended family which held, on Thursday, at the Local Government Secretariat, was attended by all families that constitute the royal house.
This followed the state government’s 14-day ultimatum to the royal house to present a successor to the late Olota, Oba Moshood Alani Osayintola Oyede, who joined his ancestors on May 25, 2016 after 19 years on the throne.
The meeting, which was presided over by the head of the royal house, Oba Solomon Adebiyi Isiyemi, the Alatan of Atan-Ota, was supervised by Secretary to Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government, Mr. Adewale Dada.
The Daily Sun gathered that the nomination from the Obanlege, Fadina, Akinboyede, Adegbite and other royal family members were equally seconded.
A member of the family who spoke with Daily Sun on condition of anonymity expressed delight at the smooth conduct of the nomination meeting which he said was also attended by local government representatives.

“With the development, the kingmakers will swing into action by electing a new Olota for the Awori people of Ota between now and Friday.
“It is our prayer that the kingmakers will give us an Olota that will not only be a pride to all Awori, but an acceptable personality of high repute whose integrity will not be in doubt”, the source said.
