UCL holders, Real Madrid are reportedly considering a summer move for Galatasaray’s on-loan striker, Victor Osimhen.
Former African Footballer of the Year, Osimhen has netted 28 times and provided five assists in just 32 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray.
His impressive outing since his loan move to the Turkish league table toppers has attracted interest from Europe’s top clubs, including Real Madrid and Manchester United.
The Spanish giants are said to be shopping for a suitable replacement for Vinicius Junior, who could be headed for a sensational switch to the Saudi Pro League, and have identified the Nigerian striker as ideal.
Fichajes reports that club president Florentino Perez has grown impatient with the 24-year-old Brazilian, who has put out an inconsistent and lacklustre performance, particularly this season, since his Ballon D’Or dream vanished.
The 3-0 loss to Arsenal in the UCL quarter final first leg has intensified internal discussions about revamping the club’s attack for next season.
Vinicius’ seeming incompatibility with Kylian Mbappe, who is highly rated by the club’s board, signal a move away from Santiago Bernabeu could be imminent.
Osimhen, 26, remains contracted to Napoli but could secure a permanent move away for approximately
€72m (£62m).
Real Madrid would be comfortably able to cover this figure should Vinicius’ move to Saudi Arabia, expected to fetch €300m (£255m) for the Spanish giants, materialise.
