To insist on remaining in party
By Chinelo Obogo
The governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and leaders of the party are currently meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The meeting, which has in attendance former Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki, who flew in from London on Wednesday, is expected to discuss the coalition of opposition parties ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Although former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is not part of the meeting, Daily Sun gathered that his men and allies would also be part of the meeting.
Sources close to those there told Daily Sun that the governors and most leaders of the party are working together to insist on remaining in the PDP “coalition or no coalition” so that they can present a unified force in the 2027 general elections.
Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, is expected to brief the press after the meeting.
