Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi scored a stunning goal and provided an assist, while his Nigerian teammate Calvin Bassey put in a solid defensive performance to help Fulham secure an impressive 3-2 victory over Liverpool in the Premier League.
Ryan Sessegnon, Iwobi, and Rodrigo Muniz capitalized on a disorganized first 45 minutes from the Premier League leaders, who experienced their first away league defeat of the season.
This victory marked Fulham’s first win over Liverpool since 2021, ending the Reds’ 26-game unbeaten streak.
With his 8th goal of the season, Iwobi (who has 34 goals and 30 assists) became the first Nigerian player to achieve 30 or more goals and 30 or more assists in Premier League history.
Iwobi’s 8th goal means he has already scored more goals this season than in the last two Premier League seasons combined (7).
