From Olanrewaju Lawal, Birnin Kebbi
Kebbi State Governor Dr Nasir Idris has promised to unveil his record of achievements to enable the general public to appraise, evaluate, and criticise his administration’s achievements in the last two years.
Nasir Idris also solicited the support of the people of the state towards the total success of his administration.
He stated this in his message to the people of the state after the end of Ramadan fasting in Birnin Kebbi.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Communication and Strategy, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Zuru, confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen.
According to the statement, “Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has joined other world leaders to rejoice with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr Sallah, with a call to the people of the state to strengthen their faith in the service of Allah and remain supportive to his administration’s commitment to the rapid development of the state.
“The Governor was optimistic that the Almighty Allah would surely reward fervent prayers and sacrifices made during the holy month, just as he strongly believed that he would continue to enjoy God’s guidance in view of what he had achieved so far in his revolutionary approach to development.
“Comrade Governor Idris’s expression of conviction in Allah’s supremacy in every aspect of human life was contained in his Eid-el-Fitr Sallah message to the people of the state.”
The Special Adviser also quoted the Governor to have attributed his moderate achievements in all sectors of development in less than two years to the Almighty Allah’s divine intervention, his ability to unite the political leadership in the state, consultations with major stakeholders in the Kebbi project, including traditional and religious leaders in decision-making, and indeed the peace-loving people of the state.
The Governor said, “Although we are in the festive season for Thanksgiving after a month-long dedication to prayers and sacrifices, it will not be out of place to reassure the people of my political will and preparedness to continue providing result-orientated services that will positively be impactful to the well-being of the people.
“In particular, the educational sector, security, efficiency in healthcare delivery, infrastructural development, and above all, the agricultural sector, adding he will continue to provide free fertiliser and subsidised prices of other farming inputs in anticipation of the wealth generation through the generation of more employment opportunities.
“He disclosed that a catalogue of his administration’s two years’ achievements was being prepared for release to the public domain and be subjected to general appraisal, critical but constructive criticism, and objective analysis impact in order to chart the way forward.
“While acknowledging and appreciating the tremendous support he and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu enjoy from the people of Kebbi State, Governor Idris advised the people to always remember the values of empathy, generosity, and self-discipline that the holy month teaches us.
“Let us reflect on the importance of seeking knowledge—education and its role in building a prosperous society, a vision that President Tinubu’s administration holds very dear.”
He regretted the recent security challenges in the state, which he described as painful, resulting in the loss of valuable lives and properties, assuring that necessary measures are being taken with the support of the defence headquarters to properly secure the state from armed banditry attacks under any guise.
Governor Idris, according to the statement, requested the sustenance of religious preaching beyond the month of Ramadan in order to improve moral virtues and commitment to the service of God and humanity among the people.
