The Deputy National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nze Chidi Duru, has concluded a two-day familiarisation visit to the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Lokoja, Kogi State.

Nze Duru, who was recently appointed the board chairman of the teaching hospital by President Bola Tinubu, said that he undertook the tour to get first-hand information about the hospital’s facilities, operational template, and challenges.

On arrival in Kogi State, the former member of the House of Representatives was received by Kogi State Deputy Governor, Joel Salifu, in his office, in GRA, Lokoja.

Nze Duru proceeded to the hospital after a brief reception to meet the management and staff of the facility to ascertain the state of things.

He equally had a high-level meeting with the hospital’s management team, staff and union leaders geared towards enhancing healthcare service delivery in the hospital in tandem with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the health sector.

Nze Duru was received at the hospital by Dr. Olatunde Oladeji Alabi, the Chief Medical Director; he applauded the management of the hospital for championing Minimal Access Surgery (MAS) in the country, and called for innovative revenue drive to complement government’s-subvention.

“As you can see, the visit was a familiarisation one to enable me have a first-hand information about the hospital’s facilities, operational template, and challenges. I had fruitful discussions through the interactions I had with the hospital’s management, staff, and union leaders.

“This is the first of its kind, and going forward, we will continue to iron out the gray areas, especially the innovative revenue drive to complement government’s-subvention,” Nze Duru said.
