The Oyo State government has announced that the 2025 International Trade Fair, EXPOYO 2025, will play a pivotal role in driving economic growth while showcasing the state’s rich agricultural potential.

 

The Commissioner for Investment, Trade, Cooperatives, and Industry, Hon. Adeniyi Adebisi, disclosed that the trade fair will be held at the Permanent Trade Fair Complex, Sango, Ibadan, from April 4 to April 11, 2025.

 

Speaking in Ibadan on Wednesday, Adebisi stated that this year’s theme, “Achieving Food Security and Economic Stability in Oyo State through Massive Investment in Agriculture,” underscores the government’s commitment to advancing the agricultural sector and fostering economic stability.

 

“The primary objective of EXPOYO 2025 is to stimulate economic growth, empower local businesses, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs. This platform will enable industries, small-scale enterprises, farmers, and professional groups to showcase their products and services,” Adebisi said.

 

The Commissioner emphasized that this year’s edition represents another significant milestone in strengthening industry networks, fostering economic cooperation, and enhancing business connectivity in Oyo State.

Chairman of the Planning Committee for EXPOYO 2025, ESV Niran Adewoyin, highlighted that the week-long event will serve as a catalyst for innovative ideas, foster long-term partnerships, and demonstrate the power of unity in achieving economic transformation.

 

He further noted that the trade fair aims to attract international exhibitors and investors, particularly from China and West African countries, to broaden investment opportunities in the state.

 

Additionally, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olajide Okesade, reaffirmed the Oyo State government’s unwavering support for local businesses and entrepreneurs.

 

He encouraged Nigerian businesses to take advantage of the trade fair as a platform to engage with international exhibitors, explore new business deals, and establish trade agreements that would enhance their value chains and market presence.

 

The Oyo State government and the Oyo State Council of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (OYCCIMA) are jointly organizing EXPOYO 2025, which promises to be a landmark event in the state’s economic calendar.
