In a ceremony celebrating  excellence  impactful contributions of women, The Sun Publishing Limited honoured two women with the Man of the Year Award.

Dr. Jayne Onwumere and Mrs. Uju Ifejika won the ‘Man of the Year Award’, while Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, won the ‘Best First Lady’ award.

The awardees expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a motivation to work harder and continue making positive impacts in their respective fields.

Ebonyi First Lady, Mrs.Nwifuru, described the recognition as a source of inspiration.

She pledged to intensify her efforts in positively affecting humanity and making Nigeria proud.

In her acceptance speech, she thanked The Sun team for the award, stating, “I appreciate the team of The Sun for this award. I don’t know if I deserve this, but it shows that the little things that we do are in the eye of The Sun. I am going to work harder to make Nigeria proud.”

She emphasised her commitment to leveraging the award as a catalyst for greater achievements in her humanitarian endeavours.

Dr.Onwumere on her part, expressed gratitude to The Sun for the honour.

She dedicated the award to God and appreciated the recognition of her efforts in building one of Nigeria’s most prominent brands.

“I thank The Sun for this award. I dedicate it to God. I appreciate the recognition and promise to do more,” Dr Onwumere said.

She highlighted her success in establishing a successful brand from Nigeria, underscoring her commitment to further elevating her contributions to society and the business world.

Mrs. Ifejika, who was also honoured with the Man of the Year Award expressed her humility and gratitude for the recognition.

She thanked The Sun’s board for the honour and pledged to serve as a role model for other women.

“The fact that we are recognised, we are humbled. We will be a role model to other women. For me, the word ‘impossible’ does not exist. It will be a challenge to rebuild our country,” she said.
