…Leverkusen set to profit from striker’s huge transfer fee
Al-Nassr representatives are in Germany to discuss a potential deal for Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The delegation will undergo talks with both the club and the player as they try to negotiate a deal to bring the forward to the Saudi Pro League.
Bayer 04 can look forward to a hefty transfer profit for the attacker, who was brought in in 2023.
German newspaper Kicker had already reported that Boniface is a candidate for the Cristiano Ronaldo club, Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. Now the poker game for the Nigerian international is really heating up. The Arabs have started negotiations with the German double winner. The deal is gaining momentum.
Al-Nassr is now definitely serious. And if the club offers a transfer fee well in excess of €50 million, the transfer could go ahead given the financial dimensions. The factory club does not have to sell Boniface and would not like to do so from a purely sporting perspective.
On the other hand, the interest from Saudi Arabia, which is now leading to concrete negotiations, opens up the opportunity for gigantic transfer income.
If Al-Nassr agrees to Leverkusen’s ideas, Bayer will be in for a hefty transfer profit after paying around €20 million for Boniface to Union St. Gilloise from Belgium in 2023. The conditions on the player side are likely to be met: The fact that the two clubs are now negotiating with Al-Nassr and Bayer 04 suggests that recent reports are correct that Boniface has already agreed on a contract with the Arabs.
It’s been heavily reported that the Nigerian international is top of Al-Nassr’s transfer list alongside Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.
