Belgian league top scorer Tolu Arokodare is among the several uncapped players new Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is tracking ahead of crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March.

Arokodare, 24, who has yet to be capped by the Super Eagles, has come into his own this season with 13 goals for Genk to top the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.

The big striker was also followed by Augustine Eguavoen, when he was in temporary charge of the Super Eagles.

A top source informed SCORENigeria: “Eric and his staff are monitoring a very long list of players, both those in the current team as well outside the team.

“The boy in Genk (Arokodare) is one of the players being tracked, he’s doing well.

“There are also some players in England, who have not yet been considered for the national team.”

However, the source was also quick to say that the players yet to be capped may not necessarily be involved in the matches in March.

“The qualifiers in March are very crucial, time for the team to be together is also short and victories in the games against Rwanda and Zimbabwe are not negotiable,” he said.

“We therefore just have to wait and see whether the coach will freshen the squad with some new players.”
