Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, recently made headlines by excelling at the National Mathematics Competition for University Students, organized by the National Mathematical Centre, Abuja.

Representing the university, Olatunji Peter Oluwafemi achieved a remarkable feat by winning a silver medal, placing the institution as the best state university in this prestigious contest.

The competition, known for its rigorous standards, aims to prepare future mathematicians of high calibre, foster healthy competition among students in Nigerian universities, and equip them for global challenges.

Olatunji’s silver medal not only highlighted his personal prowess but also showcased the quality of mathematics education at Adekunle Ajasin University.

Accompanying Olatunji were three other brilliant minds: Valentine Olanubi, who earned a bronze medal, and Jimoh Sule and Oluwatoyin Dada, who also performed commendably.

This talented quartet was under the expert guidance of their lecturer, Mr. J. A. Olofinsao, whose mentorship was pivotal in their preparation and performance.

The Vice Chancellor, in a heartfelt congratulatory message, commended Olatunji Peter, Olanubi Valentine, and their teammates for bringing pride to the university.
