The member representing Oluyole Federal Constituency, Hon. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe, has expressed profound grief over the death of the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga. Describing the news as both devastating and shocking, she noted that the loss is monumental for the 10th Assembly and the nation at large.

In a heartfelt condolence message written in Abuja, Akande-Sadipe reflected on her close bond with the late Onanuga, whom she described as more than a colleague. “She was a fierce, brilliant, and determined woman. More than a colleague, she was a sister in the shared struggles we faced, both politically and personally,” she said.

The lawmaker praised Onanuga, fondly known as “Ijaya,” for her fearless approach to leadership. She highlighted her significant contributions to the advancement of women and her dedication to the welfare of her constituents.

“Words fail me, and my heart is heavy. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga was a trailblazer, a warrior, and an inspiration. Her passion, resilience, and unwavering commitment made her a force to be reckoned with,” Akande-Sadipe wrote.
