Galatasaray Club board member, Turcan Bolayır has cautioned the club against signing Victor Osimhen, arguing that the Super Eagles striker is a risky investment for €75 million.

Osimhen, who is currently on a season-long loan from Napoli, has a release clause of €75 million.

Bolayır made his comments during a board meeting on Wednesday, stating, “A rational transfer policy is needed. A player who scores two headers for €75 million is not beneficial to me. Risky players are a gamble. If they get injured, the money is wasted, and you’ll have to pay from your pocket. While attempting to clear your debts to the banks, you could end up incurring even more debt.”

He further emphasized his concerns about Osimhen’s physical condition, stating, “Osimhen, valued at €75 million, is a star. However, he has a weak ankle. In battles on the field, I often see him on the ground. What’s going on? You’re a player worth €75 million; you need to stay on your feet. Yes, he can score goals, but remember that football is a team sport. If a cross comes in from the right or left, he may score, but it’s not just about that.”

However, Osimhen has had an explosive start to life in the Turkish Super Lig. His performance level has spurred Galatasaray top on the log with 10 league goals and bagged four assists this ongoing season.
