The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), police command said it has arrested 348, suspected vandals and other criminals in its renewed effort to combat criminal activities and protect public and private infrastructure within the nations capital.

The arrest according to the police command public relations officer Josephine Adeh, followed the raid of known black spots where criminals are hibernating to carry out their illegal activities including drug and trafficking.
She said 11 firearms, were recovered  during the raid while ten trucks loaded with vandalized metals were seized during to disrup the market for stolen items.
Adeh, listed some of the black spots raided by the police to include Apo-Dutse Panteka, Diplomatic Zone, New PDP Secretariat, Kabusa Panteka, Ajakaita (Tungan-Maje), Abuja-Kaduna Road, Jabi Panteka, Apo-Waru Panteka, Area 1 (Monkey Village), Durumi Village, Gwarimpa, Angwan Tivi, Mpape (Mashafa and Shishinpe villages), Durumi III (Burukutu Garden). Others are Mabushi (Gishiri Village), Kubwa (by Pipeline and NEPA Road), and Maitama (under the Transcorp Bridge).
The PPRO, in a statement issued in Abuja, read; “As part of its unwavering efforts to combat criminal activities and protect public and private infrastructure within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the FCT Police Command has carried out a series of strategic raids targeting identified black-spots across the territory.
Why Police Carry Out Daily Raids
Daily raids are critical to maintaining law and order in the FCT. These proactive operations are aimed at:
1.      Preventing Crime: Targeting criminal black-spots to deter and prevent crimes before they occur, ensuring a safer environment for residents.
2.      Protecting Infrastructure: Disrupting activities that lead to the theft and vandalism of public infrastructure such as manhole covers, streetlights, and power cables.
3.      Curtailing Drug Abuse and Trafficking: Confiscating illegal drugs to disrupt supply chains and protect communities from the harmful effects of narcotics.
4.      Enforcing the Law: Demonstrating the police’s commitment to upholding the law and ensuring criminals are held accountable.
