Aclassical example of how far a young man’s determination to succeed can carry him, Dr. Dotun Sanusi, Chairman/CEO, Ilaji Hotels & Sports Resort, had his mind set on becoming a successful businessman from his undergraduate days at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, University of Ibadan.
It wasn’t therefore, a total surprise when, after graduation, he made a foray into the oil industry, where he eventually spent over two decades in Port Harcourt, working as a petroleum engineer in multinational oil companies, including Halliburton Nigeria Limited, and Agpem Drilling, among others.
Sanusi’s successful outing in the oil industry prepared him for greater challenges as an investor across different business sectors. Today, he has investments spanning oil and gas, real estate, educational institutions and tourism across the country.
However, his name has been boldly written as one of the icons of the hospitality industry in Nigeria, with the success of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort. He has to his credit, the building and management of an resort with outstanding facilities like a standard football field, tennis courts, volleyball courts, swimming pool, restaurant, a farm and outdoor lounge.
