At least four persons have been killed following attacks by gunmen on the facilities of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) in Kebbi state.

A statement  by Kenneth Udo, NIS spokesman, said the attacks occurred on Friday night in Kangiwa Local Government  Area (LGA) of the North-west state.

Udo, a deputy comptroller, said a watchman and three contractors were killed during the attacks, noting that no NIS casualty was recorded.“The Service regrets to announce a recent attack by a suspected terrorist group on Border facilities and contractors on-site, at the Kangiwa Border in Kangiwa LGA of Kebbi State on Friday ,January 10, 2025.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families of the deceased. The Service is actively working alongside other sister security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for these heinous acts and bring them to justice.
