Niger State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers. Commissioner of Police, Ebenezer Danmamman, said: “This Yuletide, the command has done well by fighting hoodlums terrorising citizens.
“I have charged officers to go after the criminals. We are at alert to fight crimes and criminality. We are concerned about safety of life and property.
“We are calling all stakeholders to work with us by giving us useful information to flush out the hoodlums.
“Our operatives arrested 10 suspected notorious armed robbers in Minna and recovered some AK47 rifles, magazine and 27 rounds of ammunition.
“Police Tactical Team raided hideouts of criminals in Suleja and Kontagora. Some suspects were arrested while others escaped and abandoned their ammunition.
“I have deployed the team and other sister agencies in Allawa, Shiroro Local Government, where there has been constant surveillance. We have restored peace to that community.
“We are appealing to the public, whenever they see any strange thing, they should quickly report the case to the police.”
