Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has stated that their Champions League loss to Juventus was due to a lack of sharpness in the final third and being caught on the break.

Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie both scored for the Serie A giants in their historic 2-0 victory over City on Wednesday night.

As a result, Guardiola’s players have only won one of their last ten games in all competitions.

More importantly, the Premier League champions are in 22nd place and in danger of early elimination from the league phase.

“We played really, really good, we missed the last pass and action when we arrived, we conceded a few, the transitions happened,” Guardiola told reporters.

“But I am so proud of these players, they gave everything and tried and now we live in this period, but hopefully we can change with good results.

“I know it is difficult, it is always difficult in the Champions League, but we played really good.

“We have two games and need one point maybe, one victory with the last one at home – we lost it against Feyenoord and Inter Milan, when we played really good again and that is what created the problems.”
