Recently, the social media caught fire when some electric vehicles from the stable of Roxettes Motors, an indigenous automotive company, were showcased at the Okpara Square, Enugu, Enugu State.

Many were shocked that such industrial feat could come from the Obuaku City, Abia State-based firm that specialises in electric vehicles, CNG-powered cars and innovative industrial solutions.

With Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company in Nnewi, Anambra State, Roxettes Motors’ emergence has further elevated the South East as an automotive hub. Last week, the company was also the cynosure at the Aba International Trade Fair where it further displayed the zero emission automobiles as manufacturers, trade unions, captains of industry and entrepreneurs converged on the Enyimba City.

Abia State Government noted that Roxettes Motors was the star exhibitor at the event. It applauded the company’s commitment to creating sustainable solutions that transform lives and contribute to Nigeria’s growth.

Governor Alex Otti extolled the company’s initiative and what was on display. He urged investors to take advantage of the Abia State Industrial and Innovation Park (AIIP).

His deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu rode Roxettes Motors’ electric car, at the fair: “I really want to thank all the participants in this trade fair and Roxettes for bringing in their zero emission and electric vehicles.

“I rode the vehicle myself and I tell you it’s a totally new experience. The beauty of it is that it is faster than the gasoline propelled engines.

“I advise Nigerians to take a very good advantage of this very facility that Roxettes has brought into the country. It will reduce the number of gasoline propelled vehicles as well as help the country in terms of the ozone layer depletion which everyone is talking about.

“We must say a very big thank you as the government of Abia State having this company here. We still want that for other trade fairs that will come in the future they will still partner with the state government. We are very happy having them here. This is the right step for us as a government having this first of a kind trade fair.”
