Former Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, is set to receive the prestigious Digital Governor award from the Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON). The award recognizes his exceptional contributions to digital transformation and technological advancements in Edo State.
ATCON, in a letter to Obaseki, highlighted his visionary leadership and strategic initiatives that have positioned Edo State as a digital pioneer. Key achievements include: E-Governance: The successful implementation of a paperless government, streamlining processes and improving efficiency. Digital Infrastructure: The establishment of a Tier III Data Center, ensuring secure and reliable digital services for government agencies.
Healthcare Transformation: The deployment of the Health Information Management System and Electronic Health Records, enhancing healthcare delivery and access. Pension Reform: The digitization of the state’s pension management system, improving transparency and efficiency. Smart City Initiatives: Investments in fiber optic infrastructure and smart city projects to facilitate digital services and urban planning. Education Technology: The integration of technology into the education system through the Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation programme. Security and Public Safety: The establishment of a Command and Control Centre to enhance security, traffic management, and emergency response.
