The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has promised to provide amenities for the people of Ologbo community, just as he pledged to provide equipment to the Marine Police Division that provides security for the riverine community.
Okpebholo stated this at Ologbolo, while on ward to ward campaign tour of Ikpob-Ikha Local Government Area of Edo State.
The governorship candidate appealed to the people of Ologbo to vote for the APC in the September 21st governorship election.
“Your community is a boarder town, I will provide the required amenities so that you people will be comfortable and be able to carry out your business in a peaceful environment.
“I heard they have taken you people’s land, I will return the land to you immediately I am sworn as the governor of Edo State, and will ensure the roads in the community are tarred to make them accessible without difficulty.
“I will make sure I tar the roads immediately I resume office as the governor of Edo State. I know full well that Ologbo community is a fishing community, I will make sure we provide soft loans and fishing equipment to enable the people carry out their business.
“In agriculture, mechanized farming will be provided as men and women will be given soft loans to assist them in carrying out their farming activities.
“We will employ 500 teachers within 100 days in office to teach in our schools as well as provide pipe borne water so that the people can have access to clean water”, he said.
Also speaking, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, told the people not to believe the rumours of the opposition party that APC as party is engulfed in crisis in Abuja. “There is nothing like that, they just want to use it to distract you people”, he said.
Earlier, the campaign team had a stopover at the Palace of the Enogie of Ologbo, His Royal Highness, Prince Owenvbiugie Jason Akenzua, where the governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, sought for his Royal blessings.
At Uteh, also in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area, Okpebholo assured the people that he would make sure the major road that passes through the community is his priority, so that the people can access their community without difficulty.
Also campaigning in Aduwawa Live Stock and Kara Markets yesterday, Senator Monday Okpebholo, who spoke in Hausa language, promised to build a Modern market conducive for trading as well as abolish double taxation.
“I will rebuild the Market, tar the road and make sure you people trade in a very conducive environment.
“I am coming to work for Edo people and not to steal their money, vote APC September 21 and freedom will come your way”, he assured.
On his part, former governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, speaking in Hausa language, told the people that Monday Okpebholo is a co- Senator and assured them that the candidate will never disappoint them.
“I stand here today to assure you all that Okpebholo will deliver Edo people from PDP harsh policies. I appeal to you people to come out emmase and vote APC on September 21”, he pleaded.
