Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi has said those instigating crises in Nigeria live abroad and derive many economic benefits from causing mayhem in the country.

Adejobi said this on Monday during an interaction with an X user, insisting that the police would never shy away from defending the law in the country.

The police spokesman earlier shared a video of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun denouncing violence protests.

Reacting to the video, the X user commenced the IGP’s stance but added that “right to protest must not be abolished and police should stop saying protest will be hijacked if they’re not sending thugs to hijack it”.

In a counter-reaction, Adejobi maintained that the police only condemn riots and not peaceful protests.

“I am sure you know there were riots in some states while some states were so peaceful with their protest.

“We need to be objective about analysing the ongoing protests. Study what happened in some states before you comment here. We have laws in Nigeria, and we need to be firm to defend our country.

“Those who are calling for crises in Nigeria are away, and they have many economic gains for doing so. This, many dont know, but very soon, it will be made clear,” Adejobi said.
