The jury for the 2022 James Currey Prize for African Literature has announced the 2024 James Currey Prize finalists. The organiser of the pan-African prize described the five works as “outstanding manuscripts”.
The entries were evaluated by our esteemed panel of jurors, and five have made it to the final shortlist,” said the jury head, Uzor Maxim Uzoatu, in a statement.
The shortlisted manuscripts include:
Dennis Odhiambo – The Perpetual Surprise
Adikaibe Chidera – Alligator Blood
Chikezie Onwumere – Miss Too-Good
John Otogbo – Ogbogbo
John Ebute – Fury
The winner of the 2024 James Currey Prize will be announced in September, 2024. “We commend all authors for their remarkable contributions and extend our congratulations to the finalists for their exceptional work,” said Uzoatu.
