A leader of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), in Anambra State, Chief Kodilichukwu Okelekwe, has called on the Federal Government and South East governors to immortalize the late President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, in recognition of his contribution to national development.
Okelekwe, in a statement, yesterday, said Chief Iwuanyanwu, who died on Wednesday, in his life time, contributed massively to the development of Igbo land, and the country at large.
The APC leader, who stated that Iwuanyanwu’s demise has created a void in the Nigerian society, said his legacy will linger as an example of dedication and selflessness in leadership and service to humanity. He added that as leader of Ohaneze Ndigbo, the departed statesman
worked tirelessly to promote unity, peace, and progress among the Igbo people, while advocating for their rights and interests within the Nigerian state.
Okelekwe, who was the APC senatorial candidate, for Anambra Central, in the 2023 general elections, further stated that : “Chief Iwuanyanwu was not just a man of great stature and influence; he was a visionary, a stalwart advocate for the Igbo people, and a beacon of hope for countless individuals. His unwavering commitment to the advancement and empowerment of the Igbo community resonated far and wide, earning him the respect and admiration of all who crossed his path.
“As a renowned engineer, Chief Iwuanyanwu brought his expertise and passion to bear on numerous projects that uplifted his people and brought about positive change in their lives. His dedication to the development of the Igbo land and its people knew no bounds, and his efforts have left an indelible mark on the socio-economic landscape of the region.
“Chief Iwuanyanwu will be remembered for his compassion, generosity, and unwavering dedication to serving others. He was a man of integrity, honour, and grace, whose wisdom and guidance inspired all those around him to strive for excellence and to never lose sight of their roots.
“In his role as President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Iwuanyanwu worked tirelessly to promote unity, peace, and progress among the Igbo people, advocating for their rights and interests with a fervor that was unmatched.
