The State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has announced the conduct of its Ward Congresses in the 276 Council wards of the state on Saturday, 27th July 2024.
A statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Chief Bemgba Iortyom said the exercise will be for the election of officials into the Ward Executive Committees of the party as well as election of ad hoc delegates who will form part of the electoral college at the subsequent congresses.
The party directed that, in line with its constitution, the mode prescribed for tomorrow’s congresses is the direct election at which all card carrying members of the party in the various wards are eligible to participate to elect candidates of their choice.
The party also directed that where there is a consensus on any of the positions at the congresses, such shall be affirmed and the candidate for such a position deemed as returned.
It enjoined its teeming followers in the state to come out to the respective approved congress venues in their council wards and participate in the exercise, and to maintain lawful and orderly conduct.
