Avila Naturalle Limited, manufacturer of natural beauty and wellness products has been chosen alongside Dangote, Flourmills and others, as the frontline companies to participate in Nigeria’s inaugural shipment to Kenya under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

Avila’s selection is a testament to the company’s commitment to quality and excellence in the production of natural and sustainable products and its capacity and readiness to harness the opportunities of the intra-Africa transborder trade through the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative. This is premised on the company’s position as a leading manufactural of genuinely natural skincare products in Africa, with over 400 products within its product portfolio spread across different products category including African Black Soaps, Body Butters, Body Oils, Body Moisturizers, Face Creams, Serums, Baby Care and Bar Soaps.

This milestone shipment marks a significant step forward in the implementation of the AfCFTA, which aims to promote intra-African trade and economic integration.

Speaking at the event which took place in Lagos, Tuesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Gearge Akume said the Initiative will revolutionise the continent’s economic landscape in line with the Renew Hope Agenda of his administration which is centered around economic development and the people.

“Every Nigerian business can benefit from this Agreement. Government will provide the necessary support to facilitate the success of the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative as we embark on this journey toward economic transformation. The journey to prosperity has just begun”, he stated.

Speaking during the event which also witness the presentation of Certificate of Origin to the pioneer exporters, President/CEO of Avila Naturalle Limited, Dr. Temitope Mayegun said the Nigeria’s inaugural shipping through the AfCFTA Guided Trade Initiative is a significant milestone both for Avila Naturalle and Nigeria.

The initial shipment, which includes a range of Avila Naturalle’s products, is expected to arrive in Kenya within the next few weeks. This development is expected to strengthen trade relations between Nigeria and Kenya and pave the way for increased economic cooperation between both nations and subsequently across other nations of Africa.

AfCFTA Nigeria which is championed by the National Action Committee on AfCFTA was setup in December 2019 to coordinate the activities of the various government agencies and private sector stakeholders to implement interventions to prepare Nigerian businesses for the AfCFTA.
