A retired former player of Enugu Rangers international, Stanley Okoronkwo, is dead.
The Anambra born soccer legend started his football career at Highlander FC, Jos in 1970. He later played for Vasco Dagama and Rangers International FC both of Enugu.
A source, conversant with Rangers’ history, Ogechukwu Ajuzie, confirmed the incident to Daily Sun on Monday. He said that Okoronkwo died in a private hospital in Enugu on Sunday.
According to him, “Stanley Okoronkwo was a prominent player for Rangers. He played in the 70s and was known as the Englishman because of his neat style of play. He died in an u disclosed private hospital in Enugu yesterday (Sunday).”
It was learnt that during his career as a footballer, Okoronkwo won the African Winners Cup, two FA Cups, three national league titles amongst other accolades.
He is married and blessed with children.
