The three children of Kaduna Judge Janet Gimba, kidnapped on June 23, have been reunited with their parents after a successful rescue operation by security forces on July 9.
The reunion, overseen by the National Security Adviser (NSA) and attended by Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, took place Wednesday morning.
The children’s father, Dr Musa Dutse Gimba, expressed his gratitude in a letter addressed to the ONSA, commending the military, police, and security agencies for their tireless efforts in securing the children’s safe return. He particularly thanked NSA Nuhu Ribadu, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, and the various security agencies involved in the meticulous planning and execution of the rescue.
Dr Gimba acknowledged the tragic loss of their eldest son, who was killed by the kidnappers before his wife’s release after a ransom of N150 million was secured. Despite their profound grief, the family expressed gratitude for the return of their surviving children and thanked everyone who supported them during the ordeal.
