With a mission rooted in love and service, the St. Katherine Orthodox Project Africa Initiative (SKOPAI), has since inception in 2009, been transforming lives across the continent.
Helmed by New York-based Chrysostom Onyekakeyah, the organization has made significant strides in providing essential services and support to vulnerable populations in rural and underserved areas in Africa.
SKOPAI has expanded its reach to seven African countries including Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Liberia and Cameroon.
From its headquarters in Imo State, the organization orchestrates a wide range of activities aimed at improving living conditions and providing opportunities for the less privileged.
SKOPAI’s efforts include awarding scholarships, providing access to clean water and reliable electricity, offering food and financial support to widows and orphanages, enhancing healthcare services, and promoting skill acquisition programmes for youths. The organization also provides spiritual support and regular stipends to older adults.
“We are committed to adding value to life by addressing the critical needs of the poor masses in our African society. Our goal is to build a functional society that supports growth, development, wellness, tolerance, and peace without any form of discrimination,”
Onyekakeyah said.
Meanwhile, the organization continues to seek support from donors and sponsors to achieve its lofty objectives.
