Operatives of Delta State Police Command have arrested three suspected cultists believed to members of a kidnapping syndicate terrorizing Warri, Sapele and Ughelli areas of the state.

Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Bright Edafe who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Sunday gave the ages of the suspects as 28, 46 and 32 years respectively but did not reveal their names.

Edafe said the suspects who were arrested in Oghara and Sapele through technically generated intelligent, were suspected members of the Eiye confraternity, adding an automatic pump action gun and one new AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine were recovered.

According to Edafe, a related case, operatives also recovered one beretta pistol and five live ammunition contained in a black polythene bag which was dropped by a fleeing notorious cultism and gun running suspect, one Okobe Ability, in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

He explained that a fourth suspect, one Favour Eze (24), a male native of Amasiri village in Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, was arrested during a stop and search operation along Ogwashi-Uku/Kwale road.

Edafe said operatives of Dragon Tactical Patrol had intercepted a red commercial Toyota Sienna space van conveying passengers from Asaba to Warri, adding that Upon search, the suspect was in possession of one locally made pistol, hard drug suspected to be loud and human hair, all of which he concealed in a bag of cloths.
