A coalition of political parties in Osun State has announced its intention to unseat Governor Ademola Adeleke in the 2026 governorship election, citing the PDP-led administration’s alleged disconnect from the masses and failure to deliver on campaign promises.

The coalition, led by the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), claims that Governor Adeleke’s administration is falling short of people’s expectations and has not completed any tangible projects in its first two years.

Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, state chairman of the NNPP, stated in a press release that the coalition aims to “salvage the state from the clueless governance it is experiencing presently.” He criticized the administration for failing to meet its promises, despite claiming to have ample financial resources.

“It will be recalled that while seeking votes, Senator Ademola Adeleke said his family had dollars and pound sterling in large volume. I remember we warned Osun people then to be wary of the deceit but they didn’t listen,” Odeyemi said.

He added that the coalition is committed to working together to end the PDP’s administration in 2026 and provide Osun people with the leadership they deserve.

“Osun people deserve better. We cannot continue to fold our hands and watch our common heritage go down the drain. The government of the day is disappointing Osun people,” Odeyemi concluded.
