Founder of Laju Iren Films, Laju Iren has averred that Nigerian filmmakers are doing the best with the resources available.
Known for her movie, ‘Loving Amanda,’ Iren who is preparing to unveil her new movie, Mistakenly Yours, said the art of filmmaking in Nigeria is a tough one.
In a chat with Inside Nollywood, she said, “I think that anybody who has made a film knows how hard it is. I do believe that there are storytellers all over the world who have the capacity to improve, even Nollywood. I know that as Nigerian filmmakers, we are doing the best we can with the resources we have and I’m happy to have seen a lot of good storytelling continue to come out from the Nigerian market. Is there room for improvement? Yes, but from one filmmaker to another, no shade, everyone that I know and many people across the industry are doing the best that they can. I also think those who are doing the best that they can are inspiring those who might be mediocre to also do better. We have good stories in the industry that can match any story from anywhere in the world.”
