From Noah Ebije, Kaduna
A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and National Coordinator, Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ) Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje has said that Nigerians have the rights to either agree or disagree with President Bola Tinubu over the present socio-economic hardship in the country, positing that agreeing to disagree over national issues could give birth to a stronger nation.
Alawuje noted that President Tinubu had in few months in office succeeded in demolishing what he called  obsolete and moribund national structures to give way to new ones for slow, but steady development across the country.
In a statement on Friday, the APC chieftain said many of the national structures were over 60 years old, adding that Tinubu did not only demolish them, but he succeeded in laying another solid foundation and  transformative structures to herald a great nation which all the previous governments had avoided.
He said there was no need postponing evil days, hence President Tinubu decided to take a bold decision to face criticisms and insults from the public for the betterment of the country, adding that, “very soon, he will surely take the praises after the pains. This situation will give way and  there will be life in abundance”.
Alawuje said past leaders ought to have taken the decision long before now but they refused to do so probably  to avoid  what the people are passing through now, not because they love the people more than themselves, “rather, they fear the backlash that Tinubu is now facing from the very citizens he intended to safe from an impending imbroglio”.
“Past Presidents of our great country saw this thing coming but they decided to play around it to avoid  what we are passing through today not because they love us so much. Rather, they fear the backlash that Tinubu is now facing from the very citizens he intended to safe from an impending imbroglio. But Mr President as an experienced administrator had prepared for both insults and praises.
“However, it’s the  rights of every Nigerian  to either agree or disagree with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over national issues because agreeing to disagree gives birth to a perfect nation
“The truth no one can deny is that he ended the subsidy scam of over 40 years. Behold,  all other hardship followed.  It immediately added to price of fuel, leading to increase in all other commodities.
“It wasn’t by accident. Mr president is fully aware of what will happen and he had prepared on how to handle it. However, unfortunately, there are  no quick fixes to the problem. It will surely take time.
“We are all in this together. We are feeling the pains together. Yet, some of us  refuse to be carried away by the hardship and tragedy we are currently facing because we have seen the light at the end of the tunnel.
“We are not blaming the masses who could not see what some of us are seeing. Nigerians are accustomed to the slogan “It will soon be better”. But Nigerians have consistently been let down by previous governments.
“Tinubu intentionally crippled the bad structure from the day he assumed office, so that everyone in his government will know that it is no longer business as usual”. Alawuje said.
Alawuje who is a die-hard of Tinubu under the supporters group of DOJ during the electioneering, also stated that, “During our campaign, we have never promised to be hundred percent perfect. We never promised that we will not make mistakes. It is  not for our good to start condemning his leadership because some of us could not get political rewards as expected.
“Those who still have their memories intact  would not but testify to our impact and contributions before, during and after the elections. But our first request is for our Principal to be able to deliver good and quality leadership to all Nigerians.
“The good of  Nigeria,  Tinubu is seriously working day and night to give us what we deserve as Nigerians. Yet, it may take time to germinate and produce our collective needs.
“Let all the governors also have sympathy for their people. You have made a lot of money during this dispensation. This also goes to National assembly members, ministers and others.
“The courage and the ability to redirect Nigeria in a direction different from the one we are used to will surely give us different results. We can’t be doing things the same way and be expecting different results. Now that we have taken a new direction, slowly but surely, we will get to the promises land.
“It’s just a common sense. We started this challenges from the first day of swearing in. That means Tinubu has set the nation on the path of recovery from the very beginning. We are not going to regret voting for him. He is fully there to serve the people”.
