In a bid to address concerns surrounding safety and academic excellence, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FuLafia) Prof. Shehu Abdul-Raman has reassured stakeholders of the institution’s unwavering commitment to ensuring a conducive environment both on and off-campus.

In a statement made during a pre-convocation media briefing in Lafia on Wednesday the state capital, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Shehu Abdul-Raman, underscored the significance of this milestone.

He stated, “No fewer than 50 students of the Federal University of Lafia will on Saturday receive their certificates as First Class graduates in several disciplines.”

The Vice-Chancellor emphasized the university’s proactive measures in addressing security challenges, stating, “The management is doing everything possible to ensure there is safety in both the campus and off-campus buildings at the polytechnic.”

Highlighting collaborative efforts, he reiterated, “The university’s management is working hard to partner with critical stakeholders in the state to tackle the issues of insecurity.”

Furthermore, the Vice-Chancellor underscored the institution’s dedication to academic advancement, affirming that all staff members had undergone comprehensive training to enhance their expertise in their respective fields. He stated, “All cadre of staff in the institution have been trained to update their knowledge in their chosen disciplines.”

Emphasizing the importance of staff welfare, he reiterated, “Their welfare has also been a top priority of my administration since I assumed duty as Vice-Chancellor of the university.”

In addressing the quality of education provided, the Vice-Chancellor expressed confidence in the university’s curriculum, stating, “Our graduates have been provided with necessary knowledge and skills in their various disciplines for discovery and development.”

He further emphasized the significance of mentorship, asserting, “They have received adequate mentorship that will give them the edge over their peers.”

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to nurturing not only academically proficient individuals but also individuals with potential. He stated, “The university leadership do not only train students to have certificates but also to prepare them to have potentials.”

Anticipation mounts as the Federal University of Lafia prepares to celebrate the outstanding achievements of its students during the upcoming convocation ceremony, the Chancellor said a total of 6,499 graduates from various disciplines are set to receive their degrees, with a remarkable 50 students attaining the prestigious First Class distinction.

Highlighting the magnitude of the convocation, Prof. Abdul-Raman revealed that the event would encompass the 6th, 7th, and 8th convocation ceremonies, symbolizing a culmination of academic excellence and dedication.

Reflecting on the university’s achievements under his leadership, the Vice-Chancellor expressed pride in the institution’s progress over the past three years. He emphasized, “The university under my leadership had made remarkable achievements in the last three years.”

Furthermore, Prof. Abdul-Raman reiterated the university’s commitment to upholding its qualitative standards, ensuring that graduates are equipped to make meaningful contributions to society. He affirmed.

“The management of the university will continue to maintain its qualitative standards in order to have graduates who would be able to contribute meaningfully to the development of the society.”
