The President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh, has promised maximum support of Christian community to the new leadership of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) led by Rev. Stephen Adegbite.

Celestine Toruka, Deputy Director, Media & Public Relations, NCPC, in a statement, on Wednesday, indicated that the CAN President made the pledged when he visited the NCPC Executive Secretary, Rev Adegbite, at the corporate headquarters of NCPC, in Abuja.

CAN President described NCPC as a flagship for Christians, and an expression of excellence, confirming that the new NCPC boss is a co-labourer in the vineyard of God, and he’s competent and capable of adding great value to the pilgrimage exercise in Nigeria.

He assured Rev Adegbite that the Christian community in Nigeria will continue to pray for him to succeed in his new task. “It’s our prayer that your time here will be fruitful and blessing to Christian community in Nigeria, and anything that comes out from NCPC would be good. So, let us see how we can move this place better”.

Archbishop Okoh charged Christians to pray for those in authority, stating that the expectations of Christians are high with the appointment of Rev Adegbite as the Executive Secretary of NCPC.

Rev Adegbite, in his remarks, thanked the CAN President for finding it deserving to pay him a courtesy visit, and assured him that he must follow due diligence to the latter in whatever he would do as NCPC boss.

He explained that his position as the Executive Secretary of NCPC is a plus for CAN. “This is the first time somebody of my status as a Bishop will be appointed as the Executive Secretary of NCPC.”

The NCPC boss assured that with the prayer of the Christian community, he would deliver on the dividends of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.

He appreciated his predecessors for their contributions to the growth of the Commission, stating that he would start where they stopped, and maintained that whatever he would do, he would do it with the fear of God.
