…As Ofili sets new Nigeria, African record

It was a Sunday of resetting and setting records for Nigerian athletes at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston, USA.
World Champion Tobi Amusan has once again smashed her own African record in the women’s 60m hurdles.
Amusan clocked a time of 7.75s to bring home the new record while Tia Jones hijacked the win with a time of 7.72s while Devynne Charlton got 3rd position in 7.76s.
Not left out in the record setting train, Favour Ofili added another African record to her name at the Boston meet.
Ofili, displayed a classy performance to write a new National record and an African record in the women’s 300m with a time of 35.99s,finishing behind an American Gabby Thomas who got up to the win with a time of 35.75s.
Olympic bronze medalist and five-time National champion, Ese Brume, was in action at the NB Indoor Grand Prix.
Brume recorded a jump of 6.58m to place 3rd, her first long jump Ind. competition of the season.
Temitope Adeshina continued her impressive form to win the women’s high jump in 1.90m after failing to secure a breakthrough of 1.97m.
Dubem Nwachukwu placed sixth in the men’s 600 meter at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix after his 46.30s season opener in the 400m a few weeks ago.
Elsewhere, Samuel Ogazi made his debut for Alabama at New Mexico Collegiate Classic in the 400m recording a lifetime indoor best of 46.30s.
