Kebbi State governor’s wife, Zainab Idris, has distributed empowerment materials to women in Dole Kaina, Dandi Local Government Area of the state to enable them engage in profitable ventures for self reliance.
While speaking at the ceremony at Dole Kaina, the governor’s wife said the gesture was in consonance with the welfare policy of the incumbent administration of her husband, Nasir Idris, to uplift the living standard of the people of Kebbi State and enhance their economic status.
Zainab said such empowerment programme would be sustained to cover all nooks and crannies of Kebbi state to increase the purchasing power of families.
She cautioned the beneficiaries against auctioning off the materials to avoid defeating the objective of the exercise.
Zainab commended the people of the area for their support to the administration of her husband urging them to uphold the tempo.
She requested the people of Dole Kaina, Buma and other places where rerun elections would be held for the House of Representatives on Saturday, to come out en masse to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate to clinch victory.
Zainab pledged to provide more materials to the skill acquisition centre in Dole Kaina for training of males and females on gainful ventures for self employment.
Coordinator of Nasara Foundation, AbdulRasheed Bala, enumerated list of empowerment materials provided to each female beneficiary comprising of sewing machines, raw ground nuts for making cooking oil, rice for consumption as well as N20,000 cash.
In a remark, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Halima Hassan Kamba, thanked the governor’s wife and her husband for improving the quality of life of the people of Dandi Local Government Area, pledging total support to the APC ruling party and victory in the rerun elections on Saturday.
