Angola will hope captain Fredy and goalkeeper Dominique be fit for their all important clash against Nigeria on Friday.
The Palancas Negras look set to continue their fairytale against one of the tournament’s favourites, Super Eagles when they face-off in the opening quarterfinals of the 2023 AFCON at the famous Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
On Monday, coach Pedro Gonçalves organised another closed-door training session on the natural grass pitch of the Bouaké Technical Institute, with focus on improving tactical actions.
Attacking midfielder and Palancas Negras captain, Fredy and goalkeeper Dominique, due to medical reasons were absent in the training session, as well as striker Jeremi Belas, who was excused for two days to attend the birth of his son.
Meanwhile, the Angolan national football team stormed Abidjan on Tuesday, from Bouaké, where it had been since the group stage and in the round of 16 match against Namibia (3-0).
