A group of Northern youths, on the aegies of Arewa Youths, has charged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC) and others involved in the probe of the finances of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation to be steadfast in the discharge of their duties.

The group, which gave the charge, in a statement by its leader, Kabiru Yusuf,
expressed optimism that suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, will be vindicated after the probe.

Edu, who has been in the eye of the storm, after news of financial scandal in her ministry broke out last week, was suspended from office by President Bola Tinubu, on Monday.

However, the youth group, which had earlier alleged that some unscrupulous persons were after the Minister over her reforms, said Edu will eventually have the last laugh.

According to them, “we received in good faith President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive that the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu be suspended while EFCC should investigate all financial transactions in the Ministry she was overseeing – line with the administration’s integrity policies.

“But, one thing is certain that she will be vindicated and those who looted palliatives and being checkmated by her hence fighting back as it is said of corruption will not triumph. They will be exposed and put to shame and attract the wrath of Nigerians especially those of us from the north that she has shown concern and compassion on our plight.’
