Newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University, (COOU), Anambra State, Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha has assured that her tenure will be marked by increased visibility and viability of the university at both national and international circles.

Speaking yesterday in Awka during a courtesy call by the youth wing of Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU), led by Comrade Ken Okoli,  Prof. Omenugha  emphasised on building a new moral code for students of the university and youths generally, with her key reforms  geared towards the university’s visibility and viability.

Prof Omenugha highlighted renewal of the value system for youths as a critical step in redirecting Anambra youths and keeping them focused on what matters.

On her vision for the university in her new role, she said that the vision was anchored on the visibility and viability of the university.

“There are challenges, but my vision is anchored on visibility and viability of the university, and we are determined to take every step to ensure that the quality of teaching, research, and learning will improve to appreciably higher standards in Odumegwu Ojukwu University,” she said.

Founded about 23 years ago, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University she noted is still work in progress just like many of its contemporaries, adding that the university would be rebranded with intensive reorientation which all should commit to for accelerated progress.
