- Says Justice Ojo remains CJ
From Lateef Dada, Osogbo
Osun State Government said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is praying for the failure of Governor Ademola Adeleke because they didn’t believe that his administration could achieve without borrowing money.
The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, disclosed this at a press conference celebrating the one year in office of the government of Adeleke, Monday.
He said the APC has gone to the level of praying that Adeleke should fail, saying they are surprised that he (Adeleke) could achieve without borrowing money.
“Our traducers are mischievous. They are educated but they choose to misinform the public. They are in various praying places to pray for the failure of Adeleke. They are praying against us not to actualize the construction of five flyovers. But we are going to do it by the grace of God.
“They are making the prayer because that will be the end of their political hullabaloo and the noises they are making. If we could do it without borrowing. When we have two in Osogbo, one in Owode-Ede, one in Ikirun, and Ile-Ife, then we dualise roads in Ilesa, Ikirun and do schools amongst others, please what will they say?
“They are on their knees praying, the moment we launched the infra project, I know them, I know they will continue to bash us, they were wondering how we are going to do it. We are not going to borrow and we are going to do it.
“They have raised several issues, they never said Adeleke is not performing but they are only looking for faults of this government. They complained about the comments of the governor that he would not collect security votes.
“Compare and contrast this government with any other administration, we have performed so well and more in several sectors without borrowing despite the huge debt and backlog of salaries we inherited that we are paying,” Adeleke said.
Alimi also explained that Justice Oyebola Ojo remains the Chief Judge pending the decision of her case before the National Judicial Council (NJC).
He said Adeleke has implemented the 5-point agenda he promised during his electioneering despite the paucity of funds and the huge debt he inherited, assuring that he would do more in the next three years.
However, in a statement by the party chairman, the APC described Adeleke’s administration as the worst in the history of the state, saying that the state has never had it so bad as the administration of Adeleke.
