African craftmanship is extensively showing in contemporary fashion design concepts that continue to excite and wow fashionistas around the world and in Nigeria, particularly.
One Nigerian fashion label that exemplifies a combination of creativity, elegance and pride in the African couture heritage is Oyaato, a rapidly growing fashion house that has gained renown for its easy- to-wear, flexi separates, Ara dresses, Oyato Festive, Denim and Oyaato Jo, which are a fusion of the modern with the cultural authenticity and richness of African traditional design.
These dresses communicate a fashion sense that is unapologetically feminine.
The successful label was established by the former pioneer director of Risk Management at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Folakemi Fatogbe, after she left the apex bank, to become the creative designer of OYAATO.
Today, label seamlessly churns out a blend of pieces that are suitable for work, be it in the form of ultra-formal city-smart work attire, business casual pieces, easy-to-wear, iconic Ara dress in aesthetically pleasing African fabrics.
